Kiss Me in Kissimmee

September 10th is our wedding anniversary, and September 11th is Trisha’s birthday. I had a conference for work that I needed to attend in Kissimmee, Florida, on September 10th through 12th. The only choice I had was to take her with me.

Fortunately, we stayed at the Gaylord Palms Resort, which is a huge resort, complete with pools, lazy river, massive waterslides and alligators – yes, alligators.

Note that the alligators are not in the pools. While I attended the conference on Monday, Trisha “attended” the pool. She had to buy sunscreen for $30 at the gift shop, only for the TSA to take it away from her on the trip home.

Marriage saved, birthday recovered, and “we were somewhere” as far away from Alaska (where we just were last week) as you can get in the United States.

From August 23 to September 3, 2023, we went on an Alaska land and cruise vacation. We started out in Anchorage, took a train up to Denali National Park, then a bus ride back to Whittier. We boarded the Noordam cruise ship of the Holland America Line in Whittier, sailed to Glacier Bay, then on to Skagway, then Juneau, then to Ketchikan before we finally disembarked in Vancouver, British Columbia, this morning.

We will tell some of our stories and share our pictures in posts that follow this one.
